Ritchies Buy one Give One campaign in partnership with Heinz Australia and the Salvation Army

Kraft Heinz and Ritchies Supermarkets are once again partnering with The Salvation Army this May to launch a Buy One, Give One in-store promotion, aimed at supporting local communities in need.

The rising cost of living continues to impact everyday Australians, with many households experiencing food insecurity. Charities across Australia have seen a surge in requests for food and housing assistance. “In 2024 alone, The Salvation Army provided more than 1.6 million meals through their homelessness services, highlighting the increasing demand for essential support,” according to Ritchies Supermarkets.

To provide these critical services, The Salvation Army relies on corporate partners who generously donate funds and essential supplies each year.

“Providing meals to people is a key part of the work we do, and large-scale donations of food items make a tremendous impact on the individuals and families we support every day. With financial pressures continuing to rise, partnerships like this help us make a real difference in communities across Australia,” said Judi Agnew, Corporate Partnership Manager at The Salvation Army.

Kraft Heinz and Ritchies Supermarkets’ Buy One, Give One promotion will help The Salvation Army provide meals to Australians experiencing food insecurity. From 21-27 May 2025, for every Heinz or Gravox product purchased at any Ritchies Supermarket, Heinz Australia will donate food supplies of the equivalent value to The Salvation Army.

Heinz Australia Sales Director Benard Wouterse said: “By teaming up with Ritchies Grocery and The Salvation Army, we aim to provide vital food assistance to individuals and families facing challenges during the winter months. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and foster a sense of community support.”

Following the incredible success of previous initiatives, including last year’s event, which saw more than 50,800 units of food donated ($143,500 in value), Heinz Australia and Ritchies Supermarkets are aiming to surpass previous donation totals to meet the growing needs of Australian families.

Ritchies Supermarkets CEO Fred Harrison said: “We received amazing support last year resulting in a record donation. Given the ongoing cost of living crisis conditions in 2025, we would love to exceed last year’s donations and help The Salvation Army provide even more meals to those in need. We encourage our customers to shop with purpose – knowing that when you buy one, you’re making a real difference as we give one back.”

To support this initiative, customers can visit any Ritchies Supermarket across Australia and purchase Heinz or Gravox products between 21-27 May 2025.
