Shop consciously during Green Friday

Shoppers can add to cart mindfully this peak sales period with Green Friday offering an alternative sales event with up to 70% off some of Australia’s biggest brands including The Body Shop, Poshmark, Camilla, RM Williams all delivering sustainability-focused offers and discounts.

The four-day digital event from 18-21 November will have sustainably-focused offers and discounts from the likes of Poshmark, Camilla and The Body Shop.

As the peak sales period edges closer, Green Friday offers consumers an eco-conscious alternative to shopping the brands they love, with mindfulness and consideration.

Reports show shoppers are increasingly aware of their eco-footprints and want their dollars to matter where it counts with conscious spending.

According to Gumtree’s 2021 Circular Economy Report, 86% of consumers said sustainable practices inform their purchasing decisions when buying new. In its latest Me, my life, my wallet report, KPMG detailed that 64% of consumers want to be able to understand the environmental impact of their purchases, before they make them.

Green Friday delivers on this desire for Aussie consumers to shop consciously as brands who participate will feature their own dedicated page, hosted on the Green Friday website, outlining their specific movements in the sustainability space so that consumers can make an educated decision when purchasing and support the causes that matter to them.

Green Friday founder Peter Krideras expressed the importance of everyone’s role in moving toward a more viable way of shopping for the planet.

“We don’t need every single person to do sustainability perfectly. What we need is everyone to do sustainability imperfectly, at once, to deliver a greater impact,” Mr Krideras said.

Eighty per cent of Aussies are concerned about the amount of waste involved in Christmas gifting, a key buying motivation through the November sales period, with 68% believing that sustainable gifting is important.

Green Friday’s ‘Buy Better’ approach to shopping goes beyond the desire of Aussies to consume consciously, with packaging and delivery partnerships from the likes of Sendle and Hero Packaging, also championing the growing concern of waste in consumerism.

Both Sendle and Hero Packaging utilise eco-considerate processes and materials with a focus on waste reduction and earth-friendly practices, with Sendle also wearing a certified B corporation badge with pride.
