Warburtons launches gluten free bakery offering in Australia

The UK’s “largest” bakery brand, Warburtons, is bringing its gluten-free range to Australian shores, putting bakery back on the menu.

Australia has one of highest rates of allergies in the world, and according to research from the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, the highest published rates of food allergies in children. Australia has also seen a growing trend towards gluten-free diets, with around 11% of Australian adults following a gluten-free diet.

“With increasingly more consumers looking for delicious and reliable alternatives the Warburtons gluten-free range is positioned to cater to this demand,” Warburtons said. “It provides those looking for gluten free bakery alternatives, a trusted option backed by decades of expertise in bread-making and made in a dedicated gluten-free bakery to ensure the highest quality and food safety.”

The fifth-generation family business, with over 148 years of baking expertise, launched its Gluten Free range in 2011 and it is now the UK’s “number one” gluten free bakery brand.

Having built significant gluten-free credentials in the UK, Warburtons range includes: Tiger Bloomer Loaf retailing at $9.90, Super Soft Brioche Sliced Rolls available in a pack of four retailing at $8.50, Super Soft White Sliced Rolls available in a pack of four retailing at $8.50, and Crumpets available in a pack of four retailing at $7.
