2022 SA Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards finalists announced

Peak food and beverage industry body Food South Australia has unveiled finalists in this year’s South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards.

Presented every year, the awards aim to recognise excellence, leadership, vision and innovation across the South Australian food and beverage industry and are presented with funding support from the State Government. They are managed and hosted by Food South Australia.

Finalists across 14 categories include some of the state’s most established, and emerging, food and beverage businesses. The Top 20 SA food or beverage businesses vying for the coveted Consumer Awards have also been revealed, after Food South Australia received more than 10,000 votes from across the world.

In announcing the finalists, Food South Australia CEO Catherine Sayer says the depth and breadth of entries in this year’s awards demonstrates just how much the industry is growing and thriving.

“The theme for the 2022 South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards recognises the passion, innovation and unity that characterises the South Australian food and beverage industry. All entries received this year reflect these values. As a result, it was an extremely difficult process to decide on the finalists given the quality of products and services. All finalists should be commended on making it this far, and we look forward to further showcasing their achievements at the upcoming Gala Dinner,” she said.

Ms Sayer also revealed a new award category has been introduced; Mental Health and Wellbeing, sponsored by Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation in response to the increased focus on the health and wellbeing of people working within the SA food and beverage industry post-pandemic

All entrants of the 2022 awards were invited to attend a ‘Retail Ready Program’ sponsored by Foodland Supermarkets, which was a benefit for entering.

“These awards are not just about who wins – but a process of recognising all entrants, and providing them with the support, learning opportunities and connections that make our food and beverage industry one of the most outstanding sectors in Australia. Based on the quality of entrants and finalists in this year’s awards, the future of our industry is incredibly bright,” Ms Sayer said.

The Hon Peter Malinauskas MP, Premier of South Australia added: “The food and beverage industry in South Australia has always had a focus on continuous improvement and innovation, delivering strong growth and leadership for our State. I’m proud to be part of such a successful awards program that recognises this valuable contribution. I also look forward to the announcement of winners on November 11, further highlighting the efforts of the sector following what has been a challenging time for the industry.”

Winners across all categories will be announced at the SA Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards Gala Dinner on November 11. Tickets can be purchased here: South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards Gala Dinner Tickets, Fri 11/11/2022 at 6:00 pm | Eventbrite.
