ALDI to open 10th South Australian store

ALDI Blakeview will open in northern Adelaide on May 25, joining ALDI’s recent store openings in Mount Barker, St Agnes, Modbury, Noarlunga and Kilburn.

The retailer has committed to open up to 16 South Australian stores by the end of 2016, with a total of 50 stores planned for the state. ALDI says its long-term expansion will provide South Australians with increased grocery options and employment opportunities, with up to 900 new permanent jobs to be created statewide.

“Since opening our first South Australian stores just over three months ago, we have received an overwhelmingly positive response from residents,” ALDI South Australia Managing Director Viktor Jakupec said. “South Australian shoppers have embraced the ALDI shopping experience, with many discovering just how much they can save by shopping at ALDI. We look forward to helping even more people experience the ALDI difference.”

ALDI Blakeview will follow ALDI’s new store format with redesigned shelving and expanded wooden produce bays, as well as energy efficient LED lighting and chillers. It will also have sleek signage and point-of-sale displays.

“We have been listening to customer feedback on the eastern seaboard and believe these upgrades will make it even easier and more enjoyable for South Australians to shop with us,” Mr Jakupec said.

ALDI’s South Australian expansion continues to progress, with other confirmed areas of interest including West Lakes, Hawthorn, Victor Harbor, Smithfield, Gilles Plains, Berri, Marion, Aldinga, Evanston, Nuriootpa, Golden Grove, Salisbury, Mount Gambier, Kensington Park, Port Pirie and Yorke Peninsula.
