ALDI opens the doors to new Ormeau store

ALDI will open the doors to its new Ormeau store on the Gold Coast from 8:30am on Wednesday, 26 November.

The opening of ALDI Ormeau will offer locals an exclusive range of “high-quality products” at “Australia’s lowest prices”. It also marks the creation of 15 new full-time and part-time jobs, providing a welcome boost to the Ormeau community.

The spacious 1110 sqm store will feature a range of innovations, including 11 self-checkouts, modern interior design and simple store layout so customers can easily navigate the savings on offer.

The store will offer “award winning fresh fruit and vegetables delivered daily, 100% Australian fresh meat and iconic Specials Buys.

“Customers can feel confident that every item in their trolley is not just great value but is top quality too. It’s this guarantee that has contributed to ALDI winning Canstar Blue’s award for Australia’s Most Satisfied Shoppers eight consecutive times,” according to ALDI Australia.

Growing ALDI’s Good Difference in Australia

In 2001, ALDI opened its first two Australian stores. One in Sydney’s inner-west suburb of Marrickville, the other in the outer southwest, near Bankstown Airport. Each store stocked just 600 products, most of which were unknown brands to the Australian public at the time.

There are now 600 stores in 2025, with 88% ** of the nation’s population now living within 20km of an ALDI store.

For the past seven consecutive years, ALDI Australia has been recognised as an Employer of Choice by the Australian Business Awards which celebrates organisations with an employee-first mindset.

As a responsible employer ALDI offers every employee a salary above market rates, comprehensive training, employee wellness programs and paid parental leave.

Championing Australian products and partnerships

“Ormeau customers will have access to ALDI’s exclusive branded products which have been carefully developed with our network of more than 1000 Australian Supplier Partnersm,” according to the retailer.

“Locals are set to be amongst the growing cohort of Australian shoppers who are increasingly coming to ALDI, seeking greater everyday value.”

The new store will be located at Shop 1, Ormeau Town Centre, 29 Peachey Drive, Ormeau Queensland 4208.
