Australia’s “favourite” peanut butter, Bega Peanut Butter, has been proudly made in Port Melbourne for its 60-year lifespan. The range joined the Bega Group (Bega) portfolio in 2017, when Bega returned the range to Australian ownership. Bega Peanut Butter is famously ‘Never Oily, Never Dry’, known and loved for generations. 
To celebrate the much-loved spread’s diamond jubilee, the team responsible for making Bega Peanut Butter gathered at 1 VEGEMITE Way. While most know that 1 VEGEMITE Way is the home of VEGEMITE, a little-known fact is that it is also Bega’s peanut butter headquarters.
Among the celebrating employees was peanut butter operator Vivienne Rihia, who has been working at the Port Melbourne factory for 27 years.
“It has been an honour to be a part of Bega Peanut Butter’s legacy. Seeing the product that we produce every day turn 60 is a testament to the team’s expertise as well as the product’s quality and taste.
“It’s great knowing we’re providing Aussies with their favourite peanut butter and we’re always delighted to see it on local supermarket shelves,” says Ms Rihia.
The Bega family is proud to have onboarded Australia’s favourite peanut butter as it has been a staple in Aussie kitchens for generations, making it a true icon of taste, tradition, and nostalgia.
