Environmental non-profit organisation Clean Up Australia is reminding businesses across the country to get their gloves on and take action for a cleaner, more sustainable future by registering for Business Clean Up Day, taking place on Tuesday 24 February 2026.

Businesses play a vital role in our nation’s litter and waste challenges, as we strive for sustainable manufacturing, recycling and disposal solutions. They are imperative in helping to motivate, mobilise and encourage everyday Australians to move towards a more circular economy.

“With increasing awareness of the impact of litter and waste on our environment, Business Clean Up Day offers organisations a tangible way to demonstrate leadership on sustainability,” said Pip Kiernan, Chair of Clean Up Australia.

“It’s a simple but powerful way to foster teamwork, raise awareness of best practices, and show a commitment to building a circular economy.”

Business Clean Up Day encourages workplaces to get outdoors and into their local surrounding environment and play an active role in making a difference. Volunteers can include staff, customers and/or stakeholders in what becomes a fun, practical and impactful day of team building and community.

Clean Up Australia also offers year-round engagement opportunities, including one-off Clean Up events, multi-site corporate challenges, and virtual team-building activities aimed at reducing environmental footprints in the workplace.

Additionally, the organisation welcomes ongoing corporate support through its Workplace Giving Program, and accepts tax-deductible donations that directly fund community initiatives, including the production and distribution of its free Clean Up Kits to schools and local community groups nationwide.
