Califia Farms brings Oat Barista Blend to IGA

Califia Farms Oat Barista Blend is now available to purchase in IGA supermarkets and other independent retailers nationwide, after the success it saw in coffee shops.

The move has come due to the large demand in plant-based milk in Australia and globally.

Australian dairy milk production continues to decline, while the plant-milk category grew by 82% in 2018. Plant-based milks account for 7% of all milk drunk in Australia, and in 2019, oat milk sales experienced a 686% surge in the US alone, with Australia tipped to be not far behind, according to National Business Manager for Califia Farms Australia, Dan Kaplan.

“Dairy-free milk is huge right now as more people have become aware of the health and environmental benefits of a plant-based diet. While oat is still relatively new in the market compared to others like almond and soy, it’s fast becoming the new favourite with consumers, particularly as it’s one of the most sustainable plant milks on the market,” explains Mr Kaplan.

“Baristas and café customers have been loving our Oat Barista Blend since we launched into coffee shops last year and we’re super excited that snow people will be able to enjoy it at home as well.”

Califia Farms Oat Barista Blend is made from whole rolled oats and is completely unsweetened with no added sugar, gums, dairy or soy.
