Claire Peters leaves Woolworths for Amazon

Woolworths Managing Director B2B & Everyday Needs Claire Peters will leave Woolworths at the end of the year following an international appointment.

Ms Peters is set to join Amazon Fresh, based in Seattle, as Vice President World Wide. She will commence her new role at the beginning of 2023.

Having joined Woolworths Group as Managing Director of Woolworths Supermarkets in 2017, Ms Peters subsequently took on the role of Managing Director of B2B and Everyday Needs in 2020.

Woolworths Group CEO, Brad Banducci, says she has played a key role in transforming Woolworths Supermarkets during her five years with the group.

“As the Managing Director of Woolworths Supermarkets, Claire elevated the focus on our customers while also materially improving our retail operations,” he said.

“Since September 2020 Claire has helped to guide the transformation of BIG W; establish our end-to-end meat business Greenstock; and progress our partnerships including Endeavour Group, PFD and Ampol.

“The biggest imprint Claire will leave on our business is her care for team and communities, on show in the leadership role she played during the repeated waves of COVID, and her purposeful work on reconciliation with the support of the First Nations Advisory Board,” Mr Banducci said.

Ms Peters will remain with the Woolworths Group for the remainder of the calendar year.
