Coles lowers the price of more than 230 products for summer

Coles is kicking off the new year with savings, lowering the price of more than 230 products in store and online – including summer essentials and household staples lowered in price for at least the next 12 weeks from 8 January until 1 April 2025 to help Australians save on their weekly shop.

This latest round of price drops adds to the hundreds of items that have already been reduced for Summer, bringing the total number of products currently on Down Down to over 700.

A survey of more than 8000 Coles customers revealed 45% are cooking more at home, 60% are actively seeking out specials and over half are using loyalty points to reduce grocery bills[1].

With BBQs topping the list of Australian’s favourite summer activities – closely followed by beach days and outdoor events[2] – Coles is helping lower the cost of summer entertaining with savings on crowd-pleasers including:

  • Coles RSPCA Chicken Thigh Cutlets down to $8.50/kg from $9.50/kg
  • Coles RSPCA Chicken Breast Mince 500g down to $7.00 from $7.50
  • Coles Kitchen Coleslaw 250g down to $3 from $4
  • KB’s Salt & Pepper Squid 1kg down to $16.50 from $27.50
  • KB’s Tender Squid Chips Lightly Crumbed 1kg down to $16.50 from $27.50.

Coles is offering savings on household staples, such as Fairy Platinum Dishwashing Tablets 70 Pack, down to $27.50 from $55, and Sorbent 3-Ply Silky White Toilet Tissue 16 Pack down to $8.60 from $14.

Customers can also save on favourites including Coles Banana Bread Slices 5 Pack, down to $5.75 from $6.50, Dairy Farmers Thick & Creamy Yoghurt Vanilla 600g down to $4.40 from $5.50 and Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil 750ml down to $15.50 from $26.

Coles Chief Commercial Officer Anna Croft says Coles is committed to providing value for Australian families after the busy festive period.

“We know the start of the year can be tough on budgets especially after the holidays, which is why we’ve lowered the price of more than 230 products, including essential items and summer favourites to help our customers save,” she said.

“We’re seeing more customers cooking at home, seeking out specials and maximising loyalty rewards to save, and these additional summer savings are another way Coles is helping stretch budgets further.”

In addition to the summer price reductions, Coles is providing additional value through its weekly specials, with Coles Lamb Forequarter Chops reduced to just $14/kg, down from $19/kg — a 26% saving — available from 8-14 January and perfect for summer BBQs and weeknight family dinners.
