Drakes Supermarkets is preparing to enter the wholesale market and has chosen Infor as its technology partner.
It’s currently building a “state-of-the-art warehouse facility” in Edinburgh North, Adelaide. This will serve both its retail operations and wholesale customers. It will also be capable of warehousing ambient, fresh, chilled and frozen goods.
‘End to end visibility’
Drakes says its partnership with the cloud-software company will make it one of Australia’s most technologically advanced retailers. It claims the software will create “end-to-end visibility, automation and optimisation”.
From Infor’s perspective, its CloudSuite Food & Beverage (CS-F&B) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) suite will allow Drakes to improve serviceability to both retail and wholesale customers. Additionally, it will let Drakes take greater control of its future through “tighter control of its supply chain”.
‘Strong knowledge’
Drakes Supermarkets’ Chief Financial Offer Scott Lintern says Infor came out on top during Drakes’ search for the right solution.
“After a robust selection process, Drakes chose Infor for (its) strong knowledge of our business, both for our existing retail operations, as well as our wholesale needs,” he said. “These resonated strongly with our management team.
“With our program having already launched with the Infor Consulting Services team, we are now on our way to meeting our commitment of launching our wholesale warehouse in the middle of 2019 and supporting the ongoing expansion of our company.”
