Food recall issued for two Jalna yoghurt products

Jalna Dairy Foods Pty Ltd has issued a recall on two products detailed below. These products are sold through major supermarkets including Coles, IGA, Woolworths and Independent Grocery Stores.

  • Jalna Lactose Free Vanilla (1kg, use by date 28.07.23)
  • Jalna Sweet & Creamy Coconut (1kg, use by date 02.08.23)

“Microbiological contamination (E. coli) has been detected in the above products. Consumers who have purchased these products are instructed not to consume them. Microbial contamination cannot be detected by taste, smell or sight, and may cause illness if consumed.

Only the products and pack sizes above with the use by dates listed are impacted. All other Jalna products are unaffected by this recall.

“Consumers who have purchased the affected products should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Anyone concerned about their health should seek medical advice. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and encourage anyone with questions about the recall to get in touch with our customer service team on 1800 676 961.”

As soon as the issue was identified, the authorities and retailers were notified, and a recall initiated. An investigation into the root cause of the issue has also been initiated.

This recall is being undertaken by Jalna to ensure the safety of our consumers as part of an ongoing commitment to maintain the highest possible standards of safety and product quality.
