Greenies has expanded its treat portfolio with the launch of Pill Pockets, designed to simplify administering medication to dogs.

The new product introduces a purpose-built format that addresses a longstanding challenge for pet owners, transforming medication from a difficult task into a seamless part of daily care routines. 

“Giving medication to your dog can often feel stressful for both pets and their owners, with many pet-parents avoiding pill time altogether,” said Greenies Portfolio Director Care and Treats Nicola Paroissien.

“We created Pill Pockets to help take this struggle away, turning a sometimes twice daily challenge into a simpler, more positive experience that dogs actually enjoy. By helping Turn Pill Time into Treat Time we hope owners can spend less time worrying about medication and more time enjoying the happy, tail-wagging moments with their dogs they love.”

Pill Pockets feature a soft, malleable texture and a built-in pouch that enables owners to place medication inside, pinch the top closed to seal it, and then give it to their dog as a treat.

Available in two dog-friendly flavours – Peanut Butter and Smokey Ham – the range has been developed to appeal to dogs while supporting ease of use for owners. The format is positioned as a convenient, repeatable solution that integrates into existing treat-led behaviours, rather than requiring a change in routine.

The range was created following research commissioned by Greenies that found administering medication is a daily struggle and time consuming, with pet parents resorting to cheese, peanut butter and other tricks and methods to medicate their pets. In fact, over an average dog’s lifetime, that equals 24kg of cheese and 79 tubs of peanut butter.
