In an industry-first for the Australian meal-kit category, HelloFresh has announced a 10% Seniors’ discount offering for customers over 60.
The discount comes following new research into the cooking and food habits of Australians over 60, which finds Aussie seniors are looking for variety, value and the support of technology when it comes to their mid-week meals.
Digital savvy seniors
The national survey commissioned by HelloFresh reveals 70% of seniors have embraced technology to improve their mid-week meals.
In fact, 78% are turning to the internet for new recipes and 27% are watching cooking videos online, while others are using online platforms to order their groceries (26%) and takeaway meals (29%).
Despite many being raised on meat and three veg, the majority (60%) of seniors are looking to spice up their usual go-to meals, while 54% want to expand their horizons and cook different cuisines more regularly.
The research also revealed that while 70% of Aussies over 60 agree it’s important to get the best value for money, 65% admit to accidentally overspending at the supermarket.
Helping seniors save
HelloFresh’s new Seniors’ discount offers 10% off every box to Aussies over 60 – allowing them to save up to $600 a year. The new Seniors’ discount also extends to EveryPlate, Australia’s lowest-price meal-kit service.
