IGA showcases the best products on offer for summer entertaining

IGA kicks off the entertaining season with major sponsorship of new lifestyle TV program Aussie Barbecue Heroes.

This summer, IGA is ranging exciting food options for everyday cooking, feeding the family or entertaining.

IGA retailers are introducing exciting new product offerings to its 1,500 stores, treating shoppers to high-quality, fresh produce tailored to summer.

Metcash Food & Grocery General Marketing Manager Madeleine Fitzpatrick said: “The IGA Summer Showcase is the perfect way to bring to life IGA’s summer entertaining options through the eyes of our leading retailers.

“Being independent, our retailers across the country offer something unique and local to their stores. We know Australians are more spontaneous during summer and nearly 50 per cent of all shopping trips made by consumers are made for informal entertaining. IGA stores are positioned to take advantage of this spontaneity through location, but this summer also for entertaining needs.”

To kick of the summer season, IGA announced its major sponsorship of new lifestyle TV program Aussie Barbecue Heroes, which will feature an independent retailer from IGA and their local offering.

Four of IGA’s leading retailers from across the country came together to showcase local products as well as unique offerings designed for entertaining over summer.

Ms Fitzpatrick said: “Our research shows that seven out of 10 people shop independent and that they want to support their local community. Our retailers are free to source their own products locally, which means they are able to respond to consumer needs.

“We offer an alternative ensuring no one pays more through our ‘Price Match Promise’. IGA retailers match hundreds of everyday items such as breakfast cereals, coffee and pasta to Australia’s major supermarket chains.”

IGA’s private label range provides essentials at great-value prices, and IGA’s relaunched look and feel Black & Gold products offer value for money, again helping shoppers save even more.

“The Summer Showcase demonstrates how Black & Gold products can stand up to premium offerings, the sumptuous Christmas-themed chocolate sponge cake and mini-cupcakes are terrific examples,” Ms Fitzpatrick said.

IGA stores offer a breadth of high-quality products, particularly compelling fresh. Many supply gourmet cheeses, exclusive signature Tibaldi hams, whole-roasted turkey and pork loins to kale superslaw and mashed potato and chorizo salads.
