IGA unveils Christmas range

IGA has launched its 2022 Christmas Signature Collection range, which will appear in stores next month, complementing localised festive offers.

Citing recent Institute of Grocery Distribution research, IGA says shoppers are more concerned than ever about how to afford to put on their usual Christmas meal. The supermarket sets out to address this, promoting its quality Christmas Signature range as “well priced”. Aussies, it adds, can now focus on sharing their seasonal favourites with loved ones without sacrificing quality this Christmas.

“Our 2022 Christmas Signature Collection has something for even the most discerning taste buds,” says IGA Head of Fresh Estella Young. “It’s made specially for our customers with local produce to showcase and support our country’s quality led artisan producers and the sensational ingredients we are lucky to have right here on our doorstep.

“The hard-working teams at independent family-owned IGA stores across the country can’t wait to share these tasty and easy to serve products with their local communities to help them create a memorable Christmas with their favourite people in 2022.”

The range

Back for 2022 is IGA’s “award-winning” Naturally Smoked Bone-In Leg Ham, locally sourced to support Australians farmers priced “well” at $9.50 per kilo across IGA stores nationwide. This ham will be part of the national IGA Price Match Program, which checks and matches the lowest shelf price of the big two supermarkets, meaning shoppers will not pay more for this key Christmas item at their local IGA.

Also returning is the Beef Wellington, a buttery puff pastry filled with premium Australian beef and finely chopped mushroom duxelles. This product is hoped to take the Christmas meal to a “whole new level with minimal fuss”.

For dessert, Aussie families can choose to share their selection from IGA’s brandy-infused mince pies to the buttery shortbread and “delicious” gingerbread cookies, and “decadent” gold-dusted Christmas puddings finished with Australian wildflower honey.

New this year is the Signature Pork Crackling Roast, which Ms Young says will help deliver the “perfect” roast.

“We’ve done all the work to help make it easier to achieve the perfect crackling every time and make even the worst of us in the kitchen a hero,” she says. “We can’t wait for our local shoppers to taste it this Christmas.”

The IGA Signature Collection Christmas range arrives in selected IGA and Foodland stores across the country from 1 November, for a limited time only.
