Greek wine masterclasses will be held alongside the ‘New Wines of Greece’ tour to Australia from June 20 to 24.
One of the most appreciated offerings from last year’s Australian tour of New Wines of Greece, the masterclasses will again be led by wine educators Yiannis Karakasis and Grigoris Michailos.
Mr Voyatzis, President of New Wines of Greece, says the masterclasses will help to develop a more detailed picture of Greek wine across its many regions and varietals.
“We wanted to continue the story from 2015 and also ensure that anyone new to Greek wine this year would find it just as educational,” he said.
The masterclasses will run concurrently with trade tastings in Sydney (June 20) and Melbourne (June 23). The classes comprise:
- A Wine Odyssey: Greece from North to South (Part 1).
- A Wine Odyssey: Greece from North to South (Part 2).
- For the love of Assyrtiko: from Santorini all over the world.
- The Rising Stars: emerging Greek varieties.
The New Wines of Greece 2016 tour will feature 21 wineries representing the wider Greek winemaking industry.
