Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut is tapping into one of food’s biggest flavour trends with the launch of its limited-edition Crunchy Nut Hot Honey, now available at Coles, Woolworths and selected independent supermarkets across Australia.
Supporting the campaign is new consumer research commissioned by Kellogg’s, which found Australians are increasingly drawn to “sweet and spicy” combinations beyond food, with many singles seeking the same balance in modern relationships. The insights have informed the brand’s broader campaign and experiential activity. The research found:
- Almost two-thirds (64%) of singles would be open to swapping drinks or dinner for a breakfast first date.
- The biggest appeal of breakfast dates is less pressure (40%), the opportunity to continue the date if they are vibing (28%), feels more genuine (28%) and no alcohol involved (11%)Â
- More choice doesn’t necessarily mean better dating – more than one-in-two (54%) say dating today is harder than it used to be.
- Almost half (45%) are attracted to traditionally “sweet” traits, such as kindness, warmth and reliability, while an equal proportion (45%) say they’re looking for a mix of sweet and spicy qualities, valuing confidence, spontaneity and a sense of adventure alongside emotional connection.
Mars Snacking Marketing Director Xavier Shortal said: “Hot honey has become a go-to ingredient for people looking to elevate everyday food favourites. By combining the signature sweetness and crunch of Crunchy Nut with a touch of sweet heat, we’ve created a flavour combination that’s familiar enough for loyal fans, yet unexpected enough to turn heads and tantalise tastebuds.”
