From a small juice bar and café in Rozelle, About Life has become a market-leading retailer of natural, ethical and sustainable groceries, and the largest wholefood retail chain in the country. Their newest Sydney store was opened on March 31 in Lane Cove.
The store offers shoppers a full service of groceries, produce, meat, seafood, prepared food, dairy, bread, health and beauty. About Life will also offer a café, a self-serve food bar and a catering service. About Life’s promise is to eliminate the nasties – artificial preservatives, flavours, sweeteners, colours and more – found in conventional supermarkets and replace these with natural, ethical groceries that won’t break the bank or leave a large footprint.
Australia has seen 15 per cent annual growth in the natural and organic industry since 2009, showing a growing appetite for wellness. To cater for this, About Life has plans to grow beyond the Sydney market. Its first national store will be opening in Melbourne in May, and hopes to expand along the eastern seaboard, continuing to Brisbane.
