Mirvac excels at shopping centre awards

Mirvac Retail has received two Golds and two Silvers in the 2016 International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) Pacific Shopping Centre Awards Program.

The ICSC awards recognise the region’s most innovative shopping centres. The joint ‘Hello Sydney’ campaign of the Harbourside (Darling Harbour) and Birkenhead Point (Drummoyne) centres won Gold in the Sales Promotion/Traffic Activation category, with the VIP tourist program offering savings on shopping, food and entertainment.

Harbourside also won Silver in the Public Relations and Events category with its customer activations ‘The Event Series’.

Mirvac’s other Gold award went to the company’s national ‘Share My Shoes’ community initiative, which encouraged shoppers to donate more than 11,800 pairs of shoes during a four-week campaign to support national charity partner The Smith Family. Orion Springfield Central (Ipswich, Queensland) secured Silver in the same category, Cause Related Marketing, with its ‘Construction Calendar’.

“This is an exciting time for Mirvac Retail, as we look to create value for our customers across our shopping centre portfolio, and Mirvac’s ICSC category wins are testament to this,” Mirvac Retail National Marketing Manager Paul Pozzobon said.

The ICSC Awards attracted 188 award submissions this year across Asia Pacific. Mirvac Retail was one of only 11 Australia-based companies to make it to the final and the only company to have 12 finalists shortlisted out of a total 100.

Mirvac’s Gold award winners receive automatic entry into the 2017 ICSC Viva Awards, the international program that honours the retail real estate industry’s most cutting-edge properties, innovative solutions and creative responses to market trends. ICSC will announce the Viva Award winners during the RECon 2017 global convention in Las Vegas next year.
