Design agency Motor Brand Design has been awarded Agency of the Year for the Asia/Australia/New Zealand category for the third year in a row in the Vertex Awards.
The Vertex Awards celebrate the excellence in creative branding and packaging design in private brand/label products worldwide. The competition entries are judged by a panel of respected professionals and experts in the fields of creativity, design and marketing from around the world. The Vertex Awards currently only have three Agency of the Year awards (North and South America, Europe and Africa, Asia/Australia/New Zealand).
“To get results in the modern retail environment, private brands must be compelling and imaginative just like national brands. You have to dare to disrupt or you’re just like everyone else,” says Motor Brand Design founder and CEO Warren Spence.
Contributing to this achievement, was four different award-winning packaging designs for Motor Brand Design’s client ALDI Australia.
Winning silver in the packaged goods category was its execution of the packaging for Blackstone’s Black Edition Deli Style Potato Chips. The creative agency visually communicated the rich and gourmet flavours of the product through dynamic photography and bold contrast.
Also, in the packaged goods category, Motor Brand Design won silver for its packaging design for The Soup Co. The artwork for this Authentic Soup Cup range was heavily inspired by Asian culture and with the illustration style matching the different soup products.
Motor’s design for Taste Nation also won silver in the frozen food category. In addition to the rich photography of the meat products, the agency utilised colour to help emphasise to consumers the flavour of the marinade or sauce. “By communicating clearly, the convenience, quality and variety of the range allowed the brand to be positioned as a ‘must have’ for any home cooked dinner.”
In addition, the creative agency took home a bronze trophy for its design of Food Envy Desserts. This was achieved through the communication of the richness and flavour of the desserts through the variant colour palette and engaging close-up photography.
As a result of these awards, Motor Brand Design is the first agency to win Agency of the Year in the Asia Pacific region three years in a row.
