Highly anticipated new neighbourhood retail centre Paradise Garden Shopping Village, Thornlands Queensland, will officially open its doors on Friday, 3 May.
Located on the corner of Boundary Road and Panorama Drive, the $70 million shopping precinct is set to deliver a thriving community hub catering to locals’ retail, dining, and entertainment needs.
The official opening includes a full-line Coles Supermarket and Liquorland with a number of specialty stores also set to open shortly after including Hive Salons, Ha’ne Sushi, TSG, KFC, and a bp fuel station.
The community is invited to visit the centre and enjoy their new convenient grocery store as well as support the Rotary Club of Cleveland who will be hosting a community BBQ on the day from 10am-2pm. All proceeds from the BBQ will be donated to the local club to support their community works within the Redlands community.
The centre’s development is a collaboration between the local Wong family, who have owned the 6.25-hectare site for over 50 years, property development specialists Development Directive, and award-winning architect Cottee Parker.
It was important to the Wong family to keep the site’s heritage alive through the architectural design and landscaping. Plaques and displays throughout the grounds pay homage to the Traditional Owners, the Quandamooka People, and its rich history as a strawberry farm and convenience store affectionately known to locals as the ‘Round Shop.’
Development Directive’s Geoff Rolandsen says: “We’re excited to finally be able to share Paradise Garden Shopping Village with the community.
“Many Brisbane families have fond memories of time spent at the ‘Round Shop’ and the centre strives to emulate this. From groceries to culinary delights and recreational amenity, Paradise Garden Shopping Village will be more than just a shopping centre – it will be a destination where friends and families can connect, and memories shared.
“We look forward to seeing the impact the centre has locally, providing more than 240 new jobs, as well as access to vital services and retail amenity right here on our doorstep.”
