The Australian Human Rights Commission (Commission) is inviting senior HR and WHS leaders from large retailers to take part in a Retail Sector Survey focused on the positive duty in the Sex Discrimination Act. The retail sector is currently an area of regulatory focus for the Commission.
“This is a valuable opportunity to share your insights on how your business is working to prevent and respond to workplace sexual harassment, sexist conduct and victimisation covered by the positive duty. The Commission wants to understand:
- What’s working well
- What challenges you’re facing
- How the Commission can support the retail sector more effectively.
Who should participate?
HR or WHS professionals, from large retailers (200-plus workers), who are familiar with their whole-of-business policies and processes for preventing and responding to workplace sexual harassment, sexist conduct and related victimisation.
Survey details:
- The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete
- You can choose to remain anonymous
- The survey closes on 28 November 2025
“Let’s work together to build safer, more respectful workplaces across the retail sector.” Access the survey here.
