Woolworths sausages among new price drops

Woolworths is dropping the price of its 600g sausage range by almost 30%.

The Woolworths’ 600g sausage range includes eight varieties made with Australian beef, pork and chicken, and will be dropped from $7 to $5 per pack. Each pack contains between eight to 10 sausages, or 16 chipolatas.

“Sausages are a key summer staple with Woolworths selling more than eight million packs or 64 million sausages across this range from this week until the end of February,” says the retailer.

The drop in price of sausages is joined by more than 400 Prices Dropped for Summer products.

Other “summer classics”, including salad kits, seafood and a range of meat and poultry products for the barbeque have been dropped in price. There are also value offers to be found on several pantry staples like sauces, snacks, and kid’s yoghurts, as well as everyday household cleaning supplies and personal care items.

In addition to Prices Dropped, customers are also being encouraged by Woolworths to take advantage of “great prices” on fresh produce this summer as the vegetable price deflation trend continues.

Some individual fruits and vegetables are down by more than 40% compared to last year, according to the retailer, while vegetables overall are about 13% cheaper.

“As the weather warms up, we know these are some of the products that customers are buying more of, so we want to help them spend less on these seasonal staples,” says Woolworths Supermarkets Managing Director Natalie Davis.

“We encourage our customers to look for our catalogues and check out our specials online to find even more value in their shop. Customers can now also filter products online by best unit price, to add the best value into their shopping baskets.”

This week, Woolworths is also announcing that it will match every dollar donated by customers to the OzHarvest Christmas appeal in-store and online from 30 November until 26 December. Through the annual fundraising drive, Woolworths and OzHarvest aim to provide 10 million meals for those in need. Funds from this years’ Appeal will support OzHarvest in delivering fresh and nutritious food to more than 1900 charities.
