Yarrabilba welcomes new IGA convenience centre

IGAYarrabilba_FEATConstruction is set to start on a new 1,400sqm IGA-anchored convenience centre in south-east Queensland.

The IGA centre, to be anchored by a 700sqm IGA supermarket, will include a full-line, large fresh offer and 10,000 grocery lines and is expected to include an array of specialty shops.

On Yarrabilba Drive, the IGA centre will be opposite the future 3,300sqm full-line Coles supermarket and next to the Caltex and Starmart convenience store, which opened in December 2015. All will be part of Yarrabilba’s District Centre.

Matthew Mears, Managing Director, Communities, for Lendlease, said the IGA was another great milestone for the District Centre.

“We are focused on creating the best places and catering for the needs of the community as it continues to grow and evolve,” he said.

IGA operator Gaurav Bansal said the IGA convenience centre was designed to provide easy access off Yarrabilba Drive as a perfect location to service the community.

“We’re really looking forward to providing our customers with quality products, value and superior service, to ensure an enjoyable shopping experience,” he said.

With around 2,600 residents now, Yarrabilba is expected to become home to more than 45,000 people over the next 30 years. The area covers 2,012 hectares between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
