SIAL China, the largest food innovation exhibition in Asia, took place on May 14-16 in Shanghai. With 4,300 exhibitors and 117,595 professional visitors at this year expo, it was the largest to date.
The presentation of the SIAL Innovation 2019 Award was a highlight of the event. SIAL Innovation is the only international contest with a presence in the four corners of the world. Made up of food-industry experts, and held in partnership with XTC World Innovation, a jury rewards 10 finalists and hands out the Gold/Silver/Bronze Awards.
Xavier Terlet, President and founder of XTC World Innovation, SIAL Innovation’s partner, announced the selection of the 10 finalists in April. Each of the finalist products were said to bring enjoyment and pleasure to consumers through quality ingredients and product design. The jury considered health, packaging and customer convenience for selecting the SIAL Innovation Finalists.
Among the finalists were Damath Bouillon (natural broth in compostable pods) from Switzerland, Gemice Sea Salt Avocado Ice Cream from China, Beyond Burger vegan patties from the US, and Valfleuri Tendr’Epices organic vegetable pasta from France.
And the winners are …
