ALDI has won its fourth Canstar Blue Most Satisfied Customers Award in the Supermarket category for 2018.
The low-cost retailer topped the field for overall customer satisfaction, value for money, private-label products and special buys.
It also scored five stars for store layout and presentation. The company says its customers love the new-look store layouts, currently being unveiled across the east coast.
Communications and Customer Service Director Adrian Christie said, “This is a humbling achievement for us. We’re very pleased we’ve been recognised by our shoppers and the industry.
“We’re well known for the great value we provide our customers. But just as important to us is ensuring our customers have the best possible experience in our stores and that they thoroughly enjoy our high-quality fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and everyday grocery range.
“As we enter our 17th year, we remain focused on delivering an alternative shopping experience that we define as ‘Good Different’. We’ll continue to listen to our customers and look for continual improvements in the quality and selection of our range while maintaining our everyday low prices.”
ALDI says the Canstar Blue research reveals that value for money is the most important driver of customer satisfaction. The retailer believes saving money is what it does best and that winning this category is recognition it has the lowest prices in Australia.
ALDI says it’s able to do this by only stocking the best products within each category. This means it only has 1450 everyday products on its shelves, compared with other supermarkets, which stock more than 20,000.
The company says this business model and streamlined operation, which eliminates costly extras and overheads, allows it to deliver its products at low prices.
“Having so many loyal customers isn’t something we take for granted, so we won’t be resting on our laurels,” and ALDI spokesperson said.
