Cadbury Christmas

This Christmas, Cadbury is donating $50,000 to SecondBite, which will provide 250,000 meals for Australians doing it tough, as well as 2000 seasonal products to be distributed to those who need it most.

When Coles shoppers spend $15 on Cadbury products for their friends or family in one transaction, they’ll receive a festive gift bag. The Reindeer Gift Bags will allow Aussies to share a personalised video message through a unique QR code sticker that is included inside the bag. “These bags are the perfect Christmas gift to give to a family member, friend, teacher or peer, with the surprise video message adding an extra special personal touch. At the end of the video, you can pass on the kindness by donating to SecondBite, because it feels good to give.”

Mondelèz International Senior Marketing Manager, ANZ Kathy De Lullo says, “It’s the generous moments that make this time of the year so magical. Cadbury’s Reindeer Gift Bags give Aussies the opportunity to add a personal touch to their Christmas gifts because it’s the thought that counts. We also encourage our customers to help those who are doing it tough this Christmas by donating to SecondBite. SecondBite’s work has never been so important, with many Australians struggling daily with increased living costs to the point where they don’t know where their next meal is coming from”.

The festive season is a time for celebrating with family and friends, but the rising cost of living means some Aussies will be feeling the pinch this year. “One in six Aussies are affected by food insecurity and don’t have enough safe, nutritious food. This can badly affect their physical, emotional and social wellbeing. SecondBite is Australia’s largest free food rescue organisation and exists to make sure that good food is getting to people who need it most, rather than to landfill. It rescues edible surplus food from growers, manufacturers and retailers, and distribute it free of charge to over 1100 charities and not-for-profit organisations to feed vulnerable Aussies in need.”

SecondBite CEO Steve Clifford says, “This festive season we’re hearing the same message from all our warehouse teams and agencies across Australia – there’s a huge demand for more food. Generous donations like Cadbury’s help us get the funds we need to ensure no one gets turned away from receiving food relief this Christmas. For every dollar raised, we can provide the equivalent of five meals to a person or family in need.”

“This Christmas, it’s the small but thoughtful gestures that will count more than ever before.”

From November, customers can redeem a free Cadbury Reindeer Gift Bag when they spend $15 on Cadbury products in one transaction available exclusively at Coles nationally while stocks last.
