Coles drops prices on hundreds of favourites

Coles is starting the new year with “great value” by lowering the price of more than 300 products in store and online.

According to the retailer, hundreds of “popular” products and “big-name” brands have been lowered in price to support Australian families during the entertaining season, school holidays and back to school period.

Among the products is Coles Australian Lamb Loin Chops, available at its lowest price in four years. Until 23 January, Australians can purchase the lamb cutlets for $16 per kilo, a saving of more than 25%.

In addition, Coles is launching 12 weeks of Down Down prices across its No Added Hormone Australian beef selected steaks range, including:

  • Coles Beef Sizzle Steak 400g – now $11, down from $13
  • Coles Beef Rump Steak – now $22 per kilo, down from $28
  • Coles Beef Porterhouse Steaks 2pk 450g – now $14, down from $18
  • Coles Beef Scotch Steak Fillet 480g 2pk – now $16, down from $22

The retailer says shoppers can also snap up “great value” with many seasonal fruit and vegetables lower in price compared to this time last year. Avocados, rockmelons and watermelon are all said to be 40% cheaper, in addition to eggplants which are 41% lower and cauliflower 20% lower in price than this time last year.

To help with the back-to-school financial burden, Coles says it has dropped the price of breakfast and lunchbox staples including “big-name” brands like Kellogg’s, Chobani, Jalna, Bega, McCains, Heinz, Mission, Tip Top, Birds Eye and Carman’s to help parents provide “healthy, nutritious foods to fuel the family”.

“On top of thousands of weekly specials that provide great value and variety, these additional summer savings on hundreds of popular products are another way Coles is helping to keep healthy meals affordable and make budgets go further,” says Coles Executive General Manager Fresh Andy Mossop.

“Providing quality food and drink to our customers is at the heart of what we do, and it’s our priority to continue to work hard to deliver good prices and great value for customers.”

Customers can save on household cleaning and general needs, too, with more “big-name” brands slashed in price such as Fairy Platinum Plus Dishwashing Tablets 28pk, (now $22 from $47) and Somat Gold Dishwashing Tablets 51pk (now $21 from $35).
