Ecostore celebrates the ‘Rewear Chair’

Ecostore is calling on consumers to “skip the wash, save the planet” with the return of its No Laundry Day on 4 September.

Returning for its fourth year, No Laundry Day is about taking a moment to pause and consider everyday habits, and the impact they might have on the environment. It calls on Australia to leave the washing for the day, highlighting how conscious choices can positively impact the world, sparking conversations about the impact of daily chores and the benefits of small changes when embracing more sustainable laundry habits.

Ecostore Senior Brand Manager – Australia, Louise Minshull, says while No Laundry Day is a tongue-in-cheek way to talk about sustainability, it’s ultimately about remembering that small changes can have a big impact when we all participate.

“We know it might seem counterintuitive to encourage people to NOT use our laundry products, but ecostore has always been about balancing high-performing products with a commitment to the environment, and No Laundry Day is that in action,” she said.

“Overwashing not only wastes energy and water, it also wastes your time. Small actions, like skipping one load, can add up – especially when we do it together.”

Rewear Chair: a sustainability champion

Ecostore CEO Pablo Kraus says No Laundry Day encourages people to do less washing, and many people are halfway there already, with a ‘no-wash-land’ for clothes that are clean enough to wear again.

“Most people already have a Rewear Chair, even if they don’t call it that,” he said.

“While it might simply be the result of flinging off the day’s clothes, it’s actually a habit that can help reduce unnecessary washing and consume less water.

“We see the Rewear Chair as an act of service to the environment; rewearing is caring. It’s a fun way to think about our daily habits and how they might impact the environment.”

Mr Kraus says this special chair is the ultimate champion of sustainable laundry habits, which is why ecostore wants to celebrate it by encouraging Australians to share a photo of their own Rewear Chair, and be in to win a year’s supply of laundry products. Consumers can simply share a snap of their own Rewear Chair on ecostore’s Facebook page to be in to win.
