Foodland to participate in flood recovery soccer match

Foodland and the South Australian Produce Market together with the South Australian government have announced the SA Flood Recovery Match.

The fundraiser will take place as a curtain raiser for Adelaide United as they take on Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday 19 February at Cooper Stadium, Adelaide.

Expected to raise $100,000, the match will see South Australian Produce Market CEO Angelo Demasi, local growers, wholesalers and some of Foodland’s “finest talents” putting on their boots for team ‘Pick A Local, Pick SA’ facing off against a team of South Australian ministers and parliamentarians from all sides of politics for team ‘state government’.

Foodland will continue its support through the donation of part proceeds from the Peculiar Picks range, available across all Foodland stores. The range includes fruit sourced from both the Riverland and the Adelaide Hills.

“Foodland shelves are filled with quality fresh South Australian grown produce every day,” says Foodland CEO Franklin dos Santos.

“As our way of giving back to our state’s growers, part proceeds from our Peculiar Picks range of special market produce will be donated through Foodland’s Good 4 Locals Foundation between the months of February to April.”

Each player will be supported through donations to take to the pitch as part of the team. Attendees of the match can also add a donation to the RBS Relief Fund when purchasing their game day tickets through Ticketek.
