New Costco in Epping, Victoria, opens its doors

A new Costco in the north-Melbourne suburb of Epping opened this week.

It’s located next to The Northern Hospital and Pacific Epping Shopping Centre at 60 Deveny Road.

The company says the 13,788 sqm warehouse will service a catchment of one million people in Melbourne’s fast-growing north.

It will be Costco’s tenth Australian location, and its fourth in Victoria.

Fuel offering

Costco Epping will also feature Victoria’s second Costco Fuel station. It will be Costco’s biggest in Australia, with 26 filling positions including two high-flow diesel dispensers.

There will be special opening-week coupons with savings for members that come in during this opening week.

Costco says the opening will feature “Wow” items. It describes these as “unique/high-end items available exclusively at the warehouse opening for members to purchase”.

It says there’ll be thousands of brand-name products in groceries, appliances, television and media, automotive supplies, tyres, toys, hardware, sporting goods, jewellery, watches, cameras, books, housewares, apparel, health and beauty, furniture, office supplies and office equipment.

The warehouse will also feature a range of specialty departments. These will include a fresh bakery, fresh meat, fresh produce, deli, optical department, hearing-aid centre, tyre centre and food court, and a petrol station.

Costco describes itself as “a membership warehouse club, dedicated to offering the highest-quality products at the best possible price”.

After starting in 1976 in Seattle, USA, the company now has more than 750 warehouses worldwide.
