Romeo’s opens second Locali store

Romeo’s Retail Group has unveiled its new Locali by Romeo’s IGA at Wynyard Place in Sydney.

Opened on 26 October, Romeo’s new European-inspired fresh food hall is the retailer’s third Sydney store opened in the past eight months. The Group’s first Locali store opened on George Street in March, followed by a Romeo’s Food Hall IGA in the Locomotive Workshop at South Everleigh in April.

Located at Brookfield Place in Wynyard Station, the latest store is expected to be a “destination shop” for the CBD community, commuters and international travellers. It boasts all the attributes of the Locali concept such as a walk-in cheese room, salumi bar, sushi bar, pizzeria, Italian-inspired restaurant and bar, in-store florist, bakery and an extensive range of grocery, dairy and frozen. In addition, the Wynyard Place store hosts a walk-in produce room, carvery and dry aged beef room.

Romeo’s Retail Group owner and Director Joseph Romeo says the store captivates consumers with its energised ambience and a world class fit out, adding that it has definitely raised the bar in the industry.

“The store has a large focus on restaurant prepared ready-to-go meals, prepared and cooked on the premises,” he says.

“Furthermore, the ready-to go range is complimented with an all-embracing plant-based, organic, gluten free and health food category that truly accommodates the busy and healthy consumer looking to eat well and affordably.”

Mr Romeo adds: “The family has uniquely planned and executed the Locali concept with years of experience, learnings from international travel and most importantly heart. We truly wanted to offer the city of Sydney and the CBD community a piece of Europe and a local hub to meet all their shopping and culinary needs.”
