Australian family-owned food manufacturer SUR Direct has launched its ready-to-eat chimichurri range at Harris Farm Markets.

From today (20 July), Harris Farm Markets will stock two of SUR Direct’s most popular products, its “award-winning” Original Chimichurri and Hot Chimichurri.

Founded by Carlos and Janet Cordova in 2018, SUR Direct was inspired by the family’s Latin American heritage and a desire to share the vibrant flavours and traditions they grew up with.

Born in Argentina and now calling Australia home, the couple created SUR Direct to introduce Australians to the authentic flavours of Latin America using quality Australian ingredients.

Mr Cordova says the Harris Farm Markets partnership marks an exciting milestone for the family-owned brand.

“Chimichurri has always been about more than just flavour for our family. It represents our culture, our heritage and the way food has the power to bring people together,” he says.

“We started SUR Direct because we wanted to share the flavours we love with Australian families, using quality local ingredients and the traditional recipes that have been passed down through generations.

“After eight years of building the brand, seeing our products on the shelves of Harris Farm Markets is an incredibly proud moment for our family. SUR Direct’s Original Chimichurri is described as being a “vibrant”, ready-to-eat sauce made with “fresh” herbs, garlic and vinegar. Promoted as being “perfect” for grilled meats, vegetables, seafood and barbecue favourites, the product can also be used as a marinade, dressing or everyday flavour booster.

For those who prefer a little more heat, the Hot Chimichurri is said to deliver the same fresh, authentic flavour with an “extra kick” of chilli while staying true to the traditional character of chimichurri.

Both varieties are made in Australia using quality local ingredients and are free from artificial preservatives, artificial colours, artificial flavours and “unnecessary” additives. The products are also gluten free and vegan friendly.
