Taste celebrates global cuisines

Taste.com.au has launched its second annual Taste the World campaign, a celebration of global cuisines, inspired by Australia’s rich food culture and a growing appetite for new flavours.

The four-week editorial initiative is built around content designed by taste.com.au’s experts to make exploring international cuisines feel more achievable at home, while keeping costs down.

Taste.com.au’s latest research, ‘The Lighthouse: Cuisines Update’, a survey of 695 Australians, shows Gen Z are keen to experiment with cooking at home, yet 50% say trying new cuisines feels intimidating.

When deciding what to cook, 53% of Gen Z and 30% of Gen X respondents feel overwhelmed by the number of options.

The research also highlights ‘waste anxiety’, with people seeking reassurance that their money, effort and enjoyment won’t be wasted.

“With cost, repetition and choice overload limiting how adventurous home cooking feels for many, this year, our Taste the World campaign sharpens its focus on bringing excitement to the weeknight dinner table, encouraging Australians to move beyond their usual cooking habits and discover new favourites,” says taste.com.au Content Director Laura Simpson.

“Our role is to guide curious cooks who want to try new cuisines but aren’t sure where to begin. The campaign helps them explore fresh flavours, experiment at home and learn new techniques with simple, approachable recipes.”

The campaign will see taste.com.au’s “unrivalled” food experts work with chefs and content creators to showcase cuisines and build “step‑by‑step confidence” across recipe and video content. This includes Brendan Pang, Nonna Fina and Warren Mendes, joining taste.com.au’s Michelle Southan, Amira Georgy, Elisa Pietrantonio, Jade Dunn, Marina Karris and Stella Morelli.

A consumer marketing campaign will support Taste the World, with promotion across digital, print, video and social channels throughout the four-week campaign.
