The Laughing Cow challenges Australians to rethink leftovers in nationwide food‑waste campaign

With household food waste a growing challenge both in Australia and globally – compounded by ongoing cost‑of‑living pressures – The Laughing Cow is encouraging Australians to rethink what’s already in their fridge and pantry. Through its new campaign, The Leftover Creation, the brand is inspiring consumers to get creative, be versatile, and make their everyday ingredients go further.

At the heart of the campaign is a national consumer competition, amplified by local influencers who will motivate their communities to raid their kitchens, grab a pack of The Laughing Cow, and start creating. The initiative builds on the brand’s iconic, pre‑portioned format – designed to reduce unnecessary food waste from unfinished servings – showing that cooking doesn’t need to be complicated, overly planned, or ingredient‑heavy.

The Laughing Cow has today launched its new ‘Leftover Creation’ campaign, running until the 12 June, encouraging Australians to turn everyday leftovers into something creative and delicious.

The campaign will wrap up with one winning recipe scoring a $2,000 Kitchen Fund to support more cooking at home. To enter, participants simply share a photo or video of their own leftover creation on Instagram (T&Cs apply).

A spokesperson for The Laughing Cow said the campaign aims to raise awareness of simple, achievable ways to reduce food waste at home – while keeping cooking fun.

“We want to show everyday Australians how easy it can be to make their groceries go further,” the spokesperson said. “With a little creativity – and The Laughing Cow – leftovers can be transformed into something enjoyable rather than wasted.”

The campaign aligns with the sustainability commitments of The Laughing Cow’s parent company, Bel Group, which is working towards halving food waste across its global operations by 2030.

Locally, Bel supports Foodbank, Australia’s largest hunger relief charity. In 2025, the business donated more than a metric tonne of product and continues to support Foodbank through annual volunteering initiatives.
