Sydney Fish Market appoints new Chair

Sydney Fish Market (SFM) has announced the appointment of Craig Davison as Chair.

Mr Davison joins Sydney Fish Market at the most pivotal time in the company’s history, with a $750m new market under construction, as well as the launch of a digital trading platform and a rebrand occurring in the past year.

“I am thrilled to join the team at such a transformational time,” says Mr Davison.

“Sydney Fish Market has both a rich history and a dynamic future ahead of it. I’m looking forward to working with the board and our shareholders to recognise the incredible potential of our new site whilst leveraging our position as a leader in the seafood industry.”

Mr Davison brings a wealth of experience from his executive and directorship roles in security, media, pharmaceuticals, medical research, and the logistics industries, where he has led the future proofing of those business through digital transformation. This experience will hugely benefit Sydney Fish Market as the company continues to expand its seafood trading footprint in Australasia through the growth of its online seafood marketplace, SFMblue.

In addition to chairing the SFM board, Mr Davison will continue in his role as the Chief Executive Officer of the ANZ region of global logistics player DB Schenker. This position involves the management of the organisation’s operations across Australia and New Zealand, including 2,500 employees and 250 contractors across 22 facilities.

Mr Davison is a Graduate of The Australian Institute of Company Directors and has qualifications in marketing, management and supply chain from Macquarie University and Stanford Business School.

Mr Davison succeeds Grahame Turk, who stood down as Chair of SFM at the end of January 2023 following a 28-year association with the company in various board and management roles.
