Greens & Goodness expands plant-based protein range

Baiada’s Greens & Goodness brand has launched a new plant-based range of frozen meals and snacks, made with a “premium” pea-based protein.

Exclusive to Woolworths, the new range includes Golden Crumbed Garlic & Herb Schnitzel, Golden Tempura Nuggets, Saucy Garlic & Parsley Kievs and Spicy Bombay Tenders.

It joins Greens & Goodness’ existing line of chilled meals and snacks available at Romeo’s.

Product benefits

Greens & Goodness says its products provide key nutritional benefits.

“Peas are highly nutritious and offer protein and fibre while remaining low in fat,” says the brand. “They also contain essential micronutrients including vitamin C and K.”

Greens & Goodness adds that peas are “one of the most environmentally sustainable sources of protein and have a lower carbon footprint and water usage compared to other common protein sources”.

Backed by research

According to research conducted by Baiada, one-in-four households surveyed now include at least one vegetarian, vegan or meat reducer. This, says the company, represents nearly $26 billion in household consumer spending.

“While existing plant-based protein offerings focus on wellness,” says Baiada, “research suggests that consumers are looking for greater convenience and improved taste and texture from current plant-based offerings.”

Greens & Goodness has been established with the intentions of making it easier for consumers to prepare and share plant-based products.
