Taste and Coles launch national campaign

Taste.com.au has launched a four-week campaign with Coles built around the changing ways Australians are approaching everyday meals.

Informed by three shopper mindsets, the Savvy Kitchen campaign targets value-conscious, time-poor and shortcut-seeking consumers with “practical, shoppable” content across key planning, shopping and cooking occasions.

It marks the third year of the annual marketing campaign between Taste and Coles and will run across taste.com.au and the broader News Corp Australia network. Across the campaign, recipes and meal inspiration will incorporate products from the Coles Simply range alongside the broader Coles range, helping demonstrate “practical, value-led” solutions for shoppers.

Structured around three content streams, Savvy Kitchen is said to offer flexibility and recognises the diverse ways shoppers plan, cook and shop across the week:

  • 1 Shop, 5 Days. Tailored for planners, this stream delivers a five-day meal plan built from a single grocery shop.
  • Cook Once, Eat Twice. This stream helps shoppers stretch ingredients further by turning one dinner into a second meal.
  • Big on Flavour, Low on Time. Aimed at time-poor cooks, this stream offers fast, convenient and “flavour-packed” recipes using clever cooking hacks and everyday staples.

All content will be shoppable via taste.com.au’s “industry leading” recipe-to-cart functionality, creating a “seamless path” from inspiration to purchase with Coles online nationally.

The Growth Distillery’s Lighthouse Food Behaviours Consumer Tracker data from June 2026 underpins the strategy, revealing that Australians are weighing value across both cost and convenience. The findings show 43% of surveyed Australians cite cost as a key dinner consideration, while 30% say time and speed to prepare matters and 28% nominate ease as a key factor.

A demonstration of what’s possible

Taste.com.au Content Director Laura Simpson says Savvy Kitchen shows what’s possible when Taste and Coles bring together trusted content, retail insight and shoppability to solve a real consumer need.

“By combining flexible meal plans, shoppable recipes and products from the Coles Simply range, we’re creating a more connected and useful path from inspiration to purchase,” she says.

Coles General Manager Brand & Marketing Kate Bailey say customers shouldn’t have to compromise on quality or flavour to get great value at mealtimes.

“Savvy Kitchen shows just how much you can do with the Coles Simply range, with delicious meal ideas that are big on flavour and low on time,” she says. “Together with taste.com.au, we’re helping Australians put tasty, quality meals on the table and get more out of their weekly shop.”

Savvy Kitchen will run for four weeks on taste.com.au and will be supported by new recipes, a video series, supporting articles, galleries and dedicated newsletters. A consumer marketing campaign will further amplify the launch across outdoor, TV, radio, digital display, print and social.

Taste extends into Coles

Alongside the Savvy Kitchen launch, taste.com.au and Coles are further strengthening their 12-year partnership by extending the taste.com.au brand beyond digital and into Coles stores nationally. For the first time, selected products tested and recommended by the taste.com.au team during their recipe development process will be signposted in-store for shoppers.
